Eitan recently (and briefly) stopped eating MadeGood bars. We asked why and his response was, “they’re too chocolate chippity.”
Seriously???

Eitan’s ability to pick up idioms is impressive – at least to us old people. The other day, Rich pointed out to me that some mold appeared to be growing on some dried flowers. Eitan came over to take a look but after about one second declared, “I don’t want to be involved in this.”
Me neither, kid.
We recently took Eitan on his first trip to Manhattan. We saw our dear friends from Israel and had a wonderful time exploring the city. Eitan still talks about the trip a lot, but he refers to it as our “You Nork” trip. It is the cutest mistake!
At dinner, we were discussing Nana and Mama’s old hairdresser and his ultra-demanding wife.
Mama said: “Yeah, the only thing I remember about was that she was a…”
Short silence, as Mama tries to decide what to say.
Eitan: “Pain in the butt!”
We all burst out laughing.
Eitan: “I knew that was going to be funny!”
Eitan: “Mut”
At least he’s drinking it now!
I didn’t realize how frequently I say certain things until Eitan started to repeat them. For example, Eitan went to pee recently and Rich went with him. I hear him sit down on his potty and say to Rich, in a very serious manner, “SO, Dada”
You know you added the cutesy “y” sound on the end of too many words when your child refers to one of his bathroom toys as “Octopussy”.
Whenever we see construction, we yell “Big doings!” I noticed recently Eitan pronounces this “Big Doozings!” I thought this was cute.
Since he was pretty small, Eitan called juice ‘jupe’. It is definitely his favorite drink, and he continues to call it jupe even though he can now pronounce the sound ‘s’. The other day he was helping me peel an orange and his finger punctured it. “Hmmmm, jupey!” was his reaction. It was great.
Just a favorite expression.
